Established in 2012, The Department of Health Management has set up three teaching and research offices, i.e. Health Services Management, Health Services Technology and ‘Zhi-Wei-Bing’ Office. At present, the department totally has 22 teachers, including 4 professors, 4 associate professors and 1 associate experimental researcher; 85.71% of the full-time teachers hold doctorate degree. It is a young and vital faculty team that mainly undertakes the tasks of teaching the undergraduates, postgraduates and doctoral candidates of Health Management and carrying out a large number of scientific researches and social services. At present, the department has established teaching research practice bases in Hangzhou Wuyun Mountain Sanatorium, Hangzhou Sanatorium of Nanjing Military Region, Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhejiang Youth Hospital, Zhejiang Zhejian Health Management Service Co., Ltd., Dian Diagnostics Co., Ltd. and other enterprises and public institutions. It is the only college with basic medicine “undergraduate-postgraduate-doctorate” talents training system in China. As of September in 2018, the department has three sessions of bachelor degree graduates of Health Management with employment rate of 99.4% and has attained certain influence and brand effect in China.
Health Management discipline and speciality development take a leading position in China. At present, the department owns many disciplinary platforms, including “Preventive Treatment of Disease and Health Management”, which is the first doctoral talents training program to meet the special demands of the country, “Mobile Health Management System” Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education, and key discipline of ““Preventive Treatment of Disease and Health Management” of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In addition, it is the National Health Manager Training, Authentication and Examination Center approved by National Health and Family Planning Commission. The department has established long-term teaching and research cooperation with U.S. Stanford University, U.S. Massachusetts Institute of Medicine and Japan Waseda University. In the past five years, the team has undertaken National “12th Five-Year Plan” Scientific and Technological Support Program and many national, provincial and ministerial level programs and carried out approximate 20 social cooperative programs. At present, the department has over 10 school-level excellent courses and educational reform projects. The students of the department have won awards for Zhejiang Xinmiao Talents Program and in College Students Career Planning Competition.
